Dear Sylvia and Michael,
Thanks for the feedback
and for a good meeting - I enjoyed it a lot.
The social element of
the meeting is special so this should only be emphasize in my opinion.
The poster session was
fine, although the ones facing the wall left a very small corridor to
traverse - maybe this setup could be improved.
On the topics it's
obvious NGS is taking more and more attention - also here. I guess this
is inevitable.
Finally - it was an
excellent party to shake up things.
Best wishes,
Søren

Hi
Michael,
This year's event again
fulfilled our expectations. As gold sponsors at the event, focused on
the latest trends in molecular biology and software development, we
were able to present our scientific research and products, and
concluded several successful meetings with the leading decision makers
in the industry. We would recommend qPCR & NGS Event to everyone
who is interested in relevant scientific content and meeting the key
opinion leaders from the qPCR and NGS industry.

Dear Sylvia
Here are some comments from my side:
PRO’s:
- This was my first time as this conference and
I really enjoyed the open and informal setting, the ease to move about
and connect, even when you don’t know anybody yet and the relaxed
atmosphere.
- The conference size (number of people and
number of sessions + number of talks) was perfect.
- I also liked that there were two parallel
sessions that were different, so you could choose which best suits your
interest.
- I liked that there were many companies present
with stands to visit to get more information on the latest commercial
technologies.
- The poster session reception with buffet
snacks and drinks on Monday evening was great!
- The fact that the symposium can be combined
with a workshop of choice at the same location was superb.
- Great that all talks will be made available to
all conference visitors.
- I also really enjoyed reading the BDQ edition
that was handed out.
- I learned a lot!!!
CON’s:
- I knew this
beforehand, but still missed a lot the application possibilities in
prokaryotes as the focus of the symposium is very much on human/mouse
applications and RNA expression.
- The website is
very unclear and amateuristic.
- The conference
is quite expensive. There were foods and drinks provided all the time –
this was very luxurious and I enjoyed it, but may not be necessary and
could save costs?
With kind regards

Hi Michael,
I arrived home safely thanks. Many thanks for another great meeting -
lots of fun as always!
The posters you list are the correct ones.
There used to be a bigger infectious diseases / microbiology component
to the conference. Cancer, exosomes, eukaryotic microRNA profiling etc
seems to have taken over. It might be good to run a microbiology and
infectious diseases applications session next time.
Jim and I would be happy to chair!
Many thanks again.

Dear Michael,
Sylvia and Martina
Thanks for your
email. And a HUGE thanks
for putting on such a fantastic event. We found the event to be
exceptionally well organised. The qualityof all of the
hospitality and entertainment was
exceptional. All of the bioMCC team were enormously friendly and
helpful too.As always the
scientific content of the event
was varied. Some good, some not so good, but this is not under
your control! However there was a lot ofexcellent science
presented and some real
highlights...not least Kary Mulis'captivating talk on the Monday
afternoon.
Thanks again and we
look forward to attending
again in future.

Dear
organisers,
It was a pleasure attending and participating in the qPCR2011 Event. I
especially liked the accent on new developments and the presence of
speakers with broad experience in the field. Together with the
possibilities to directly contact the industry made the visit
absolutely worthwhile.
I don’t know if separate sessions and discussion sessions really add to
the quality of the event. Better keep the quality of the speakers as
high as possible and focused on the scope of new technological
advancements.
Thanks again for giving me the opportunity to present my work and
looking forward to a next qPCR event,

Dear organizers,
I would like to thank a lot for great
organization and management of the conference, everything worked in
good order. The lectures were very attractive and the speakers were
amazing. I am looking forward for their presentations, because
unfortunatelly I was not present at all of the lectures I wanted to be
at due to the similar timing, so thanks for the opportunity of
recordings. I was really delighted by the catering service, all the
lunches and especially by the social evening in the brewery, that was
fantastic!
See you maybe at the next conference/event...

Dear
qPCR 2011 Team,
Thank you very much for your wonderful organization. Everything was
great. I really enjoyed the meeting, the workshops, and my stay in
Freising.
When I came back to my university, I mentioned a lot about your
organization to my colleagues. Although everyone thinks the payment is
very much for a student, as for me it was worth.
Freising is a very beautiful and peaceful city so do the campus. As a
student I really get jealous the students of TUM. I would like to do my
PhD at such a university.
It was a full scientific and social enthusiasm week for me, thank you
for organizing this type of successful occasions for us.
I look forward the coming qPCR Events (may be qPCR 2012).

Dear Michael and
Sylvia,
Thank
you for the
opportunity to participate in your fantastic meeting. You are
wonderful and gracious hosts and I appreciate all the work you and your
team did to provide the meeting as well as the extra curricular
events.
The
Pros of the meeting
for me were: 1. Learning about the new developments in the
emerging areas of single cell analysis and digital qPCR. 2. I
enjoyed the next gen sequencing presentations, especially the
non-commercial presentations. 3. The meeting layout and
program promoted networking and sharing ideas with others. 4. The
support staff was outstanding and did a great job at both the meeting
and non-meeting events.
The
only Con I have is
the high level of commercial presentations that were part of the
program. Some vendors did try to give a more scientific style of
presentation. But there were a few that gave more of a sales pitch than
science. Perhaps it could be encouraged that if a vendor wants to
present at the meeting that they ask a non-company scientist who has
been using their product to speak.

Dear,
Comments:
+ Supernice meeting: one
to come back to !
- Posterhall should be
opened longer than until 3pm
- To my opinion, every
topic should start with a long plenary session giving an overview of
all the basic information and briefly some updates, prospects,
problems..., followed by shorter talks (without the same introduction)
about new methods, applications,...
Best regards, Mario.

Dear
qPCR 2011 organisers,
The conference was excellent and very enjoyable.
The content of the seminars was excellent- but in some cases the chairs
did not exercise quite enough discipline regarding time (this is
important with parallel sessions).
The advertised poster sessions, apart from the Monday night (which was
excellent, well attended and plenty of discussion!) were not well
attended.
The catering at this conference was the best I have ever experienced
(and I am a veteran of many conferences).
It would be helpful to have a few more accommodation options linked to
the conference site (or linked more prominently, if they were already
there).
Best regards, and thanks again for a great conference.
